Christmas Time
TWO WEEKS, PEOPLE! TWO WEEKS.
We are in the full Christmas swing over here which looks like a partially decorated Christmas tree, artificial wreaths lying on the floor (Possibly until December 25th?), Caris singing "Haste! Haste! To bring him laud" from all corners of the house. Then there's the 12 Days of Christmas book she found and has used to carol to different family members in different rooms of the house. Audrey saying, "Merry Christmas" ranks high up on the cutest things we've ever heard and today, during rest time, Liza jumped down the stairs yelling, "C'MON SAINT NICHOLAS!" while holding a sword and shield.
Kent has been gentle and diligent to lead us in a daily advent reading (As opposed to me who would go all Chris Farley on them, "AW'RIGHT everybody sit down for advent reading or you're gonna be LIVIN' IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER) Could this be the first year that we readmost every day of advent? I hesitate to say that out loud even though I promise I'm a little not superstitious winky face. I have been pondering the idea of Emmanuel, God with us--as a baby in the manger, now by the Holy Spirit, and coming again as a conquering King. However, I am also the person trying to listen to Frank Sinatra's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas while my two year old yells in my ear demanding to eat her advent chocolate while I holler back with "STOPPP YELLINGGGGG You have to eat LUNCH.FIRST.LUNCH.FIRSTTTT" so take that homily with a grain of salt.

A kind couple from a sister church gifted us with a tree outing to a nearby Tree Farm. First time ever for all of us! The man was super nice and it was all just set up in backyard. The girls enjoyed running through the rows of trees and we came home with a real 'buet. It's partially decorated only because we ran out of ornaments! Our trees of Christmas past were much smaller.
We are a part of FAFWDOTTF. Wait, never heard of it?
Families Against Families Wearing Dressy Outfits To Tree Farms
I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but it might include flannel shirts, plaid, tall boots, sweaters, a 2-3 color scheme and maybe a blanket.
don't act like you don't know what i'm talkin' about!
