Dress Up

Image
You'd think that after almost four weeks with a new baby things would get easier and you'd get into a routine, but I'm finding that it's almost the opposite. The first week+ I had help from parents. Now I'm helpless (in more ways than one) and I'm gradually adding things into our day like going to church (with just one kid for now!) and Toddler Time at the library. Most of the day I shuffle around changing diapers, coming up with toddler type lunches and making sure the wheels don't fall off of our Crazy Train completely.  And now, some dress up pictures. One morning last week our house was in the 50's (We don't have heat. It's a long story ) We're still really into Frozen around here. A girl at Toddler Time was wearing a Frozen shirt and Caris would yell out "GO!" every few minutes.  Shortly after this picture was taken, milk came out of her nose. Photoshoot fail.  Oh hey girl.  They get it from their Momm

10 on 10 [February]

Image
Introducing a new feature!  On the 10th of every month, I'll post 10 (quick, mostly poor quality) pictures from the day *This is an idea floating around the internet.  *Credit goes to all the people who are more creative than me. A naked abandoned baby after breakfast was announced and served.  Keurig pods from my generous mother in law and a mug that speaks truth.  Running laps in the front entryway while waiting for dad  Playdough. A Christmas gift from Uncle Wes and Aunt Sara. No filter.  She parked beside me as I cut strawberries. The hat, the basket...all her idea.  "You just had a baby!" flowers brought by Kent to the hospital.  After work snack on the back deck  concrete slab. Valentine's mantle.  Afternoon nap.

Birth Day

Image
Dear Liza, on your birth day... I woke up shortly after 6AM. Little did I know, 12 hours later I'd be holding you! I ate two graham crackers smothered with peanut butter with a glass of chocolate milk for breakfast. Lunch? Leftover Papa John's pizza. I had your dad, sister and dog go on a walk with me. I used my best peppy fitness instructor voice and exclaimed, "We're gonna WALK THIS BABY OUT!" I power walked a few feet ahead of them the whole way. Your dad didn't even call me crazy (out loud).  I stopped once to get a picture. You never know which bump picture will be your last...  Your Gigi and Pops left South Carolina and started driving down. I got these texts from your Aunt Anna which made me laugh, but I didn't reply.   This text from your dad was just another sign that I was losing my marbles.  After this text, it was confirmed...Anna would never be a midwife or doula.    And your sister had unlimited iPad time (sh
