All I Want for Christmas is... 1. Jeans. And they're magic:: They fit like they're supposed to, stay up and stretch/shrink as needed through the years. Think Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. 2. Thick cut bacon sizzling on the stove, that someone else is cooking, every morning in 2020 3. For Kent to organize the kitchen rubbermaid containers and lids (again) 4. A single day where none of my children ask for a piece of gum 5. A single day where I can eat a piece of gum without my children asking for a piece 6. For our library to announce they're doing away with late fees 7. My garage door to close on it's own 100% of the time 8. Markers and marker caps that mate for life in my house and are never separated by time or space 9. The ability to snap my fingers and tidy my house a la Mary Poppins 10. World Peace
When I pictured Easter this year , I pictured myself waddling my great-with-child body into church. People were going to say, "Girl, when are you due??" and I'd say "Saturday!" and then we'd joke about how big I was and how ready I was. After church we'd have the siblings over for lunch. Maybe ham, rolls and green beans. And I'd say, "I can't believe Ma is just going to miss Easter. It's her favorite holiday!" What Easter actually looks like this year ... I didn't fully commit to actually making it to church, but my eyes popped open at 7AM (props to the Holy Spirit. I could've slept till 10) and I gave it a go. Modern day Easter miracle : I made it to the 8:15 service and was only 5 minutes late. That would've even been impressive for my pre-baby self. I waddled my post-baby body into the back pew, came home and dressed Baby Suits in a huge 3 month "Baby's First Easter" onesie while Ma was...
Likes... Coloring, having books read to her, going to Sunday School, listening to music in the car, running errands with mom or dad, chewing gum, dressing up, fetching the mail, sucking her "fum", telling the same knock knock joke. She has a killer imagination (which I egg on). She will play Princess/Prince/Wicked Queen whenever she gets a chance. In the last few months she's learned games like duck, duck, goose and hot potato. On vacation the Suits side taught her Uno and we love Sneaky Snacky Squirrel. Other highlights include hide and seek, dancing to music and swimming. She has picked up swimming incredibly fast (this coming from her mom who excels only at the doggy paddle) Her goggles were traumatic at first, but now she loves them. Dislikes... She doesn't like getting interrupted when she's talking, when her little sister messes up her game/toys and there are a number of things she "doesn't feel like" doing- like going potty, going to be...
