Two Weeks from Two

I wear fancy shoes while reading books next to my sister
 I recently asked to wear a princess dress for the first time
 I try to put on my sisters' panties when they're not around
 I eat cereal with a spoon like a big girl
 I "help" mom sort laundry by taking one pile out of the basket and putting it in a different (wrong) basket, all while naming the person that the article of clothing belongs to "ehyaehya DADDY ehyaaah MOMMY....eeeeMINE...."

The Alligator Float

Allow me to recall a devastating childhood memory?  When brother Wes and I were young, say...7 and 9? We each had an awesome, huge, fun water float. He had a lobster and I, an alligator. One summer, during our annual beach trip to the Outer Banks, the lobster got a hole in it and for reasons STILL UNKNOWN TO ME, neither the lobster nor the alligator made the cut to join us in our wood paneled station wagon for the ride back home to Philly that fateful week. I was crushed and I still need counseling .  So on Saturday, when I stopped at the Dollar General to buy a hat, I bought an alligator for myself  my girls   These pictures were taken from a phone inside a ziplock bag. Memories got nothin' on protecting the iPhone. They're the perfect age for a few hours at the beach and at one point we found ourselves watching them play together so we read  whispered to each other " Look. They a r e playing to-ge-therrrr! Easter

When I pictured Easter this year , I pictured myself waddling my great-with-child body into church. People were going to say, "Girl, when are you due??" and I'd say "Saturday!" and then we'd joke about how big I was and how ready I was. After church we'd have the siblings over for lunch. Maybe ham, rolls and green beans. And I'd say, "I can't believe Ma is just going to miss Easter. It's her favorite holiday!"  What Easter actually looks like this year ... I didn't fully commit to actually making it to church, but my eyes popped open at 7AM (props to the Holy Spirit. I could've slept till 10) and I gave it a go. Modern day Easter miracle : I made it to the 8:15 service and was only 5 minutes late. That would've even been impressive for my pre-baby self.  I waddled my post-baby body into the back pew, came home and dressed Baby Suits in a huge 3 month "Baby's First Easter" onesie while Ma was...
